2021 Yue Guang Bai “Moonlight White”

Yue Guang Bai is named for the striking appearance of its leaves: dark on one side, pale on the other, naturally curling into moon-like shapes. The name also reflects its traditional processing, which must be completed within a single day and is said to finish under moonlight. According to lore, working at night also helped protect the closely guarded techniques used to produce this tea.

The liquor is exceptionally smooth, medium to full-bodied, with a gentle sweetness. Notes of white-fleshed fruit, bright wood, and cream unfold first, followed by soft herbal and later vegetal tones.

Aroma and flavour are finely balanced, with clear definition between each note, mirrored by the tea’s crystal-clear liquor.

The tea is formed into hand-rolled Dragon Balls that unfurl beautifully. Each ball weighs approximately 7.5–8 g.
